    The Message

Dear House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, and Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Eliot Engel:

I'm disappointed that you caved to the bad-faith attacks against Rep. Omar.

Trump's statement today shows that giving into and amplifying the campaign against Rep. Omar means giving in to dishonest bigots with a history of supporting anti-Semitism, white nationalism, and Islamophobia.

I also urge you to encourage honest and open dialogue about the influence of lobbying groups on the U.S. Congress—whether it's AIPAC, the NRA, Big Pharma, or others.

Even though she's apologized for the impact of her statements on AIPAC lobbying, which some members of the U.S. Jewish community found offensive, Rep. Ilhan Omar continues to be attacked by a bad-faith smear campaign.

Tell House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, and Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Eliot Engel to not continue to cave to these disingenuous attacks.

Anti-Semitism is a real problem with real harms, and it needs to be eradicated. That doesn’t mean staying silent about AIPAC’s negative impact on our politics. And it never means buckling to dishonest bigots with a history of supporting anti-Semitism, white nationalism, and Islamophobia—like Donald Trump and Rep. Kevin McCarthy.

We're calling on leadership in the House to not continue to cave to these bad-faith attacks, which are intended to diminish the power of a groundbreaking Black Muslim woman and silence voices critical of Israeli policies and the politicians who defend them.
